Diomed ROCKS!

Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 school year! We'll be having early outs each afternoon this week, but we'll also be doing fun projects as a whole school to build community both within and outside the school. Join us on Friday, August 31 at 1:00 PM for a Diomede clean up. We'll be hitting the streets with trash bags and rubber gloves to make this community shine!

Ulu Classes

Mr. Rob is teaching the 4th and 5th graders how to make ulus. Eventually, the older kids will get to make their own ulus as well. If you're interested in making an ulu, talk to Mr. Rob. He'll have the shop open during open gym on certain nights for carving and metalworking. He'd love to give you a hand in whatever project you'd like to tackle!

Thar She Blows!

Yesterday a gray whale washed up on the tip of the helicopter pad. It looks like some orca whales ate off her jaw and tongue and left the rest for us! Be careful down on those icy rocks while harvesting. Bon appétit!

French Cruise Ship

Many of our students had the opportunity to travel aboard a French cruise ship today via zodiac to demonstrate Eskimo Dancing. Tourists from around the world got quite a show. Later on, they allowed most of the kids (and a few of the teachers) to come aboard for a tour. Thanks for the hospitality! We hope to see them again next year.
